This is a vintage charcoal, 3 buttons overcoat by Brooks Brothers.
Brooks Brothers has established its brand as an all-American-classic, and it stays in power today.
Judging by the union labels inside, it was made during the '80s. Made in USA which indicates the year it was made, and the fact that is a respectable vintage.
It is like new, mint condition. Positively no sign at all about this coat ever been dressed. It will be hard to find another one, made during same time, absolutely new, such as this one.
Fabric is 60% worsted wool and 40% lambswool.
Very soft and fluid at touch. Due to almost 50% of lambswool the coat is very warm although light weight.
The cut is a classic. Nothing extravagant. Just understated elegance made of high quality fabric. The kind of coat which , with proper care, last forever, and it never goes out of style.
Two lateral pockets, chest pocket, and back vent. Fully lined.
Considering the measurements, it's a size L. It could fit some who usually buy XL, too.
In any regards, pls review the measurements (laying flat):
* arm pit to arm pit, approx. 22.5 inches
* center back length, approx. 45 inches
* sleeve length, shoulder pit to end, approx. 24 inches
A coat of this quality retails approx. $850+. This coat is immaculate.
Buy with confidence, I'm specialized in hard to find or unique, excellent quality, new or like new, vintage items.
NOTE FROM SELLER:
Q: “Why buy Vintage?"
A: "Quality is key!"
"So yes, our vintages are not NWT, but the important thing is that they look as have never been worn. The main reason for this is that better fabrics and techniques were used in the past than are used today. Most fabrics of the past, if correctly cleaned and stored, could and should last a life time. There was a lot more emphasis on clothing being well made because clothes had to last longer since people did not buy new clothing as often as we do today. There was a lot more done by hand in the manufacturing of vintage clothing, whereas the same procedures, like adding buttons and detailing, are done by machines today, during mass production. Overall many vintages are quality superior of many “fast fashion” items from retail, as we know them - today. Not to mention, its guarantee of being unique, since not many people would walk around wearing exactly the same thing!"
